I mentioned in the video that you cannot turn off the lcd whilst the camera is turned on. You can set it to turn off automatically after 15 seconds, but I have not yet been able to turn it off immediately by use of a button.

GREAT REVIEW .. THANK U SO MUCH ..
The audio does seem very low bit rate… and this could be problematic for me, as an audiophile.
I think there are probably better cameras now on the market like the latest offerings from Casio. The noise is probably not as competitive as when it first came out but it still holds its own. The tonal range and colour isn’t brilliant in artificial light and contrasty situations but I still think it is a great camera for such a small package. Ironically it probably excels most as a compact video camera. Still worth buying but now it is an older camera, have a look at the alternatives first.
you can turn the lcd off if you enable the viewfinder in the menu settings.
nice review and nice camera.
fantastic review this has got me down to jessops and guess what I got a LX3.
Turn the lcd off by selecting !use external viewfinder! from the menu
What a great review!
Do you miss having an optical viewfinder on this camera?
Great review. Nice to have a review from a real user’s point of view.
Great vid. Been looking at this camera for a while. Are you still happy with it? Are you able to zoom in movie mode or does it lock it in one position? Also, how is the HD movie mode? Cheers.
